One of my favourite parts of RAFW was discovering new designers and talent, and the best place to see this was at the New Generation shows on Friday (I posted about the first one here). Unfortunately I never made it to the second one but I couldn't resist sharing with you these pics from one of the collections shown, Virginie Lynn. The label completely embodies what I try to achieve when getting dressed each day, easy and cool while elegant and a bit edgy. Not always the easiest to do, but these girls have it spot on. This is what I want to be wearing when summer comes round again, luxurious silk and leather classics that can be worn over and over again. You can find out more on the Virginie Lynn site here, which also has an online store (I'm currently trying not to buy everything there, so hard!!). This is the Australian brand to watch!

The cheeky Friend of Mine collection definitely stood out from all the rest during RAFW. I loved way too much to type it all out and my brain's a little fried at the moment, so here's what I jotted down during the show...

Alexandra Spencer styling and directing- killed it. Short short shorts. Bondage accessories. Rips, leather and mesh. The coolest hair of the week. Crazy music and energy. Talon claws on chunky boots (NEED!)

COLLECTION / YEOJIN BAE

One of my favourite collections from fashion week. Yeojin outdid herself, I always love her clothes but watching this show I had to actually hold myself back from clapping and gasping with each new look that came out. I could live in this collection, so pretty and sophisticated, sexy yet sweet. It was the colours that captured my heart, brights mixed with nudes. And how could I forget, my favourite outfit of the whole week- the tiny black sparkly shorts, silk nude top and red bra, and that perfectly tailored black blazer!

I also got the opportunity to head backstage before the show, to watch the craziness of hair and makeup and take a peek at the clothes. The loose braids and stunning coral lips were perfection, with the same easy playfulness of the clothes.

A big thank you to the Redken Retreat who gave me the fantastic Sony Bloggie which I've been obsessively filming videos with ever since, and to the wonderful Ruth who did my hair for the day! The Redken girls were just so lovely. And the front row seats, major snaps.

COLLECTIONS / NEW GENERATION SHOW

Hello dear readers! A big apology for falling so behind on blogging this week, hopefully I can make it up to you by providing lots and lots of RAFW goodness! This week has been truly incredible, a mix of exciting, fun, overwhelming, inspiring, exhausting and non-stop. Not only have I been attending shows all day everyday but I have also had a big week with uni- major uni assignments and fashion week all at once is definitely not something I recommend trying. So I hope you understand why I haven't been around! A bunch of posts coming your way over the next few days.

Today, the final day of RAFW, I headed to the first New Generation show. 5 young designers who absolutely blew me away, all so different yet all with elements that are completely my style. First was Mok Theorem, whose feminine details caught my eye. Such wearable pieces with a touch of luxury.

Next was Christopher Dobosz, sleek clean tailoring with killer footwear by Mary-Kyri. Adore the double neon cuffs too.

The dreamy Paper Skye collection, the one I showed you a peek of last week, was the one I was most looking forward to as it was styled by the incredibly talented Margaret of Shine by Three, one of the lovely bloggers I got to meet and hang out with this week. At least one of these floaty sheer pieces will be making its way into my wardrobe next spring!

Poppy Lissiman showed the most gorgeous prints, the 'under the sea' print seen on the stunning printed maxi skirt was my favourite. And the colour palette was just so bright and cheerful, is it too early to be waiting for summer to come? It was so refreshing to see the models bouncing down the runway with big smiles on their faces, it was just perfect for this collection.

Finally came Arj Selvam. Made for those days when you crave androgynous suiting paired with flat shoes. Which for me is probably more often than not!
