After 3 long days of travelling, I've finally made it to France and I'm heading off to the Loire Valley today. I'm not a big castle person but I'm definitely excited to see some of the ones down there. I got into Paris late afternoon yesterday and spent last night sipping on wine and nibbling on a charcuterie plate at La Palette in St Germain, definitely recommended!

Thanks for being patient with my lack of posts lately. I would love to know if you have any recommendations (food or shopping) for where I'll be travelling over the next month- London, Amsterdam and Paris! Can't wait to hear them!

While working with Vogue Australia for Vogue's Online Shopping Night, I asked the impressive Editor-in-chief Kirstie Clements about the upcoming trends we should look out for, what we will be seeing in magazines for the next season. Coming from a pretty reliable source (haha ok probably THE most reliable source), take this head start and get shopping!!

"Upcoming trends are sexy, fetish dressing like we saw at Louis Vuitton."

"Black lace, everywhere at Valentino, Pucci, Lanvin and Marc Jacobs."

"Oversized volume, seen at Stella McCartney and Jil Sander."

"Attention to the sleeve, Lanvin, Miu Miu and Givenchy."

"It's all about black, nudes (Calvin Klein, Celine)..."

"...purple, green and blue (all at Haider Ackermann)..."

"... and spots! Marc Jacobs, Stella and Lanvin."

Well hey there! Apologies for my disappearance, thank you for all your lovely emails wondering where I was and when I'd be back. The last week I've had uni exams, you know the drill- either studying or wasting time doing anything to avoid studying. But now they're over and I'm back to blogging. And even better... I'm off to Europe in a week, can't wait! x

Minutes away from the start of Vogue's online shopping night. To help you get ready to shop, I asked Felicity Loughrey, Editor of vogue.com.au, a few questions about the night...

It’s Vogue’s first Online Shopping Night. What was the inspiration behind the idea?
We love shopping. We love shopping in store and we love shopping online. We wanted to put together an event that celebrated Australia’s e-tail talent, give our readers great deals and have a fantastic night in.

Do you have any hot tips for making the most of the night?
The great thing about online shopping is that one sale leads to the next. We would suggest clicking on our partner sites and definitely keep a screen open on your laptop for our FacebookTwitter and Tumblr feeds that will highlight amazing deals as the night unfolds.
Which offer are you most excited about?
If only I wasn’t an employee I would love to enter the Net-a-Porter £5000 shopping spree.
This is also the first time Vogue Australia has worked with bloggers. What has motivated the change and what do you believe blogs can bring to the Vogue experience?
I love fashion blogs. Adore them. The thing about online is that you can read www.vogue.com.au, and you can read ten other websites. In the online world we can all work together as the only limit is people’s time (I could spend all day reading my favourite blogs).

Make sure you're following me on twitter where I'll be tweeting through the night on all the amazing offers!!

I have to start this post with a warning to all non-Australian readers: do not read on if you suffer from jealousy or have an insane online shopping addiction! But my dear Australians, for you I have some fabulous news- tomorrow night (Wednesday 8 June) is Vogue Australia's Online Shopping Night! Great discounts, more free shipping than you can imagine, free gifts and competitions, Vogue has rounded up hundreds of Australian and international brands to participate.

And some more fun news, they've invited me to tweet throughout the night to help you make the most of it! Make sure you're following me on twitter (@rosemodern), as well as @vogueoz and the list of the other bloggers involved, and join in on the fun by using the hash tag #VOSN. Tomorrow I'll be back with my favourite offers and some more excitement!

So cancel those dinner plans, warm up that clicking finger and get ready to shop!

Confession: I'm more than a little addicted to sunglasses. I always have a pair (or three) with me, even on a grey rainy day. And now I'm trying to decide which pair to buy next... help me out by commenting which ones you like best!

Top row:
1. Karen Walker Harvest- black
2. Karen Walker Deep Freeze- tortoise
3. Karen Walker Number One- black/crystal yello

Bottom row:
4. Karen Walker Number One- crazy tortoise
5. Karen Walker The Village- black
6. Super Lucia- summer safari puma

Loving the quirkiness of KW sunglasses right now!
